Morning! This week’s a tidy mix of “go on then” plans, with a surprise line up comedy night at The Black Horse, a brand new Goan and Portuguese dinner spot on London Road, and a Friday that starts with bingo and ends somewhere between 1996 and 1986.

Then Saturday swings the other way with a calm origami workshop making spring bits you can actually take home, which feels oddly satisfying for something made of paper.

Golden Sands has only recently opened and it’s already a strong shout for a dinner that feels a bit special. Start with chicken lollipops or chilli chicken, then go coastal with cafreal salmon tikka or recheado prawns. If you’re going curry, butter chicken and chicken xacuti are the easy winners, then finish with caramel flan and call it a good decision.

Bingo first, then it turns into a full Friday night out. You get paper bingo and cash prizes, then music bingo (lyrics instead of numbers), plus retro game rounds and a live tribute act doing the big 80s and 90s anthems. It’s 18+ and they’re strict on payments, tickets and anything inside must be paid by debit card, not credit card. Strobe style lighting is used, so skip it if that’s an issue.
