Things To Do This Week: A Mum2Mum Market, Half Term Activities, Plus Comedy Shows All Week!

Morning! Half term is here, so the calendar needs to work for both the kids and the adults who are pretending they are fine. You’ve got space themed days out and museum bits to keep little legs busy, plus comedy nights, workshops, and a few calmer options for when you want something that feels like you actually left the house on purpose.

Bonus points for Mum2Mum on Sunday, because nothing says “parenting victory” like leaving with a bag of clothes they will outgrow before the receipt ink dries.

🗓️ WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK?

👶 - Mum2Mum Market: Want Baby Stuff For “They’ll Grow Out Of It By Tuesday” Prices?
📍- Counteshorpe Village Hall
📅 - Sun 22nd Feb
⏰ - 10:00 AM
🎟️ - £2 adults, kids free (cash only)
📷 - @mum2mummarket_uk
🌐 - mum2mummarket.co.uk

Mums sell to mums, which means the prices stay grounded and the bargains get silly. Clothes from baby up to age 6, toys big and small, plus the bulky kit like walkers and bouncers, all in good nick and ready to take home there and then. Best part: you can actually check the stuff before you buy, haggle if you fancy it, and leave without waiting for a parcel to turn up looking nothing like the photo. Homemade cakes too.

BIZ BITE OF THE WEEK

💪 - Studio PLT: Reformer Pilates That Feels More Like a Reset Than a Punishment
📍- Oadby
⏰ - Classes run throughout the week
🎟️ - £20 per class
📷 - @studiopltuk

If gyms make you feel watched, rushed, or a bit lost, Studio PLT is the opposite. It’s a calm, women friendly space in Oadby with expert led reformer classes for beginners, stronger sessions when you want a push, and slower Soul classes when you want your head to quiet down as well as your muscles to work. There are showers, lockers, a lounge, and a warm up area, plus a new member deal of 2 classes for £30 so you can try it without overthinking it.

ACTIVITY ALLEY

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 - Half Term Railway Day - 50p Train Rides and a Museum That Won’t Empty Your Wallet
📍- Abbey Pumping Station
📅 - From 17th Feb
⏰ - 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM
🎟️ - 50p per ride (museum and grounds free)
📷 - @leicestermuseums

Its half term with an actual train involved, so you’ve basically already won. The narrow gauge railway is running all day and it’s 50p a ride, plus entry to the museum and grounds is free, so you can keep looping back without doing mental maths at the till. Pay cash at the station or card at reception or the cafe, grab a snack, then let them burn off their excitement outside.

FRESH EXPERIENCES

🎭 - Paul Merton and Suki Webster’s Improv Show - No Script, No Safety Net, Just Brilliant People Making It Up
📍- De Montfort Hall
📅 - Sun 22nd Feb
⏰ - 7:30 PM (Doors 7:00 PM)
🎟️ - £29 (Ages 14+)
📷 - @demontforthall

This is comedy with the stabilisers taken off. Paul Merton and Suki Webster run improvised games and scenes with special guests, so it’s different every time and your mate can’t ruin it by telling you the “best bit”. Two halves with an interval, and you’re out at a reasonable time, unless you’re the type who stays behind arguing which moment was the funniest.

7:30 PM (Doors 7:00 PM)
