Leicester flips the switch on Christmas with street performers, live music in Town Hall Square, a fun fair and four separate switch on moments. The De Montfort Hall panto cast take the main switch at 6:30 PM with Father Christmas, Filbert Fox and BBC Radio Leicester’s Ady Dayman leading the crowd from the Haymarket balcony. The lights keep popping across the city with switches at Haymarket at 6:45 PM and St Peter’s Square at 7 PM.

A silent disco inside a space museum feels like the sort of idea born after one too many throwback playlists. Three channels keep the nostalgia rolling and the bar keeps the dance moves unpredictable. It is a full-on 90s night with lights, headphones and plenty of singalong moments.
