This week the West End Day Party is at Athena from 3pm with live vocalists and five hours of show tunes, and Madness are at Abbey Park all afternoon with four decades of ska and Neville Staple. Friday night, Austentatious is at De Montfort Hall - one night only, fully improvised Jane Austen, and nobody knows the title until the audience shouts one out.

Athena is hosting a full West End day party on Saturday with live vocalists, a party DJ, confetti moments, and five hours of musical theatre anthems designed to expose exactly how dramatic your friendship group really is.

Wicked, Mamma Mia, Grease, The Greatest Showman, Les Misérables and more are all in the mix, which means someone will treat Defying Gravity like a personal challenge and several people will be emotionally unavailable during the Les Mis section.

Emre is already well known for doing Turkish steakhouse dining with a bit of theatre, but the menu still has plenty that deserves another mention.

Dry aged British beef over flame, 12 hour brisket, smoked short rib, cola glazed short rib, charred lamb chops, Wagyu burgers, Dynamite shrimp, and that table special Tomahawk that turns ordering into a small group negotiation.

Then dessert comes along with Kunafe and a Chocolate Dome, just in case anyone was pretending they had restraint.

Madness land at Abbey Park on Saturday with four decades of ska and pop anthems ready to send the whole park into full dad dance territory.

Our House, Baggy Trousers, One Step Beyond, House of Fun, It Must Be Love and more, all outdoors with support from Gentleman’s Dub Club and Neville Staple from The Specials.

Basically, one song in and someone’s already doing that knees apart shuffle like they’ve been waiting all week for medical advice to be ignored.

Austentatious lands at De Montfort Hall on Friday with a full improvised Jane Austen novel made up live from an audience suggestion, performed in period costume with live music. The cast have no script, no plot, and no idea what they’re doing until someone in the audience suggests a title like Pride and Parking Fines or Sense and Sensible Footwear.

One night only, which is probably fair. Making up an entire Regency novel in real time sounds like enough admin for one evening.
